Description: Cybersecurity and data breaches are in the news on a regular basis and are a common problem in today’s business world. We read about healthcare, financial institutions, government, and other businesses being targeted by cybercriminals regularly; but we don’t read about the rash of cybercrime affecting small businesses every day. It’s important to understand why and how a cybercriminal would go after a small business and the strategies they would use to do so. We’ll discuss several types of cybercrime that are commonly occurring as well as steps and controls that can be implemented to prevent these scenarios from happening.

Elizabeth Duffy has been with First Bank & Trust since 2013, where she fulfills the role of Fraud and Anti-Money Laundering Manager/ In-house Counsel. A graduate of USD Law, she oversees a staff of seasoned professionals, protecting customers from fraud and scams while ensuring compliance with federal regulations to combat terrorist financing and money laundering.
Sadie Bell serves as VP, Director of Retail Banking Products and Services for First Bank & Trust. Joining the organization in 2016, Sadie brought over 12 years of banking experience to her position. In her current role, Sadie manages Retail Banking, Correspondent Banking and Business Solutions to create and deliver the best products and services to our customers.
Rick Olivier is a Senior Account Executive for SBS Cybersecurity. SBS is a cybersecurity consulting and audit firm based out of Madison, South Dakota. Since 2004, SBS has been dedicated to assisting organizations with the implementation of cyber risk management programs and to mitigating cybersecurity risks. Rick has a degree from Dakota State University in Electronic Commerce. Nick Podhradsky is Senior Vice President at SBS CyberSecurity, LLC. Mr. Podhradsky holds Master of Science (M.S.) in Educational/Instructional Technology from Dakota State University in 2008. He holds Bachelor of Business Administration in Management & General at Dakota State University in 2006.
