On Tuesday evening, January 19, our CFMA Chapter had the opportunity to give back to our community and our industry by supporting a local non-profit organization,Lunch Is Served, Inc. Lunch Is Served, Inc. is and organization with a "unique mission of delivering simple sack lunches for working men and women who are attempting to break the chains of poverty and hunger."
Ten of our members gathered at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sioux Falls and worked together to pack 300 lunches. The group had an enjoyable time and really appreciated the opportunity to make a difference for working men and women in our community! Check out a few of the pictures at the bottom of this post.
Our chapter also received the following note of appreciation from Lunch Is Served, Inc.
Dear Siouxland Chapter CFMA:
Thank you for volunteering to pack meals with Lunch Is Served, Inc. on Tuesday, January 19th. Because of you, 300 people were fed!
Most of the people we serve are working temporary or part-time jobs and live day-to-day. We believe that our simple sack lunches provide not only nourishment, but are a tangible symbol of support and encouragement.
In 2015, our volunteers made 27,466 meals for the working poor in our community! Our program continues to grow and is greatly appreciated by the meal recipients.
Thank you for your incredibly generous donation of $325! Lunch Is Served, Inc. depends on the kindness and giving of our community, and we simply would not exist without you! Together we make a difference… one day, one meal at a time!
Your group photo will be posted on our Facebook page on Friday, January 22nd! Please feel free to share the post and tag yourself and your organization!
Together in Service,
